Troop 89 Introduction & History

Troop Introduction:

Thank you for your interest in our Troop 89 Boy Scout organization. We are a unit member of the Patriot's Path Council located in Cedar Knolls, NJ. Troop 89 is a special place for boys to have fun, learn leadership traits, and develop skills and hobbies that will last a lifetime. It is a safe haven where everyone can feel physically and emotionally secure. We do this in several ways.

We create an environment based on team-building, fun and learning.

  • We set the example for others and ourselves by always behaving as Scouts by upholding the Scout Law.

  • We live the Scout Oath and Law each day and to the best of our abilities.

  • We refuse to tolerate any bullying, name calling, or physical aggression.

  • We seek the best from each member, and do our best to help him achieve his goals.

-About the BSA:

The Boy Scouts of America ("BSA") was established in 1910. Through years of experience working with thousands of boys and adults, the BSA has developed a tried and proven organizational and operational format. Intentionally designed within the structure is a degree of flexibility to allow each unit (council, district, troop, patrol, or individual) to plan and mold its internal activities to best satisfy its particular needs.

Troop 89 History:

Troop 89 was founded in 1958 in Hillsborough.

Our first Eagle Scout was Robert Cauchi in 1962, and since we've had over 100+ Eagle Scouts.

Over the years we've had several patrols, such as the Flaming Arrows, the Road Runners, the Rattlesnakes, the Lions, the Panthers, the Raccoons, the Rams, and the Beavers, but currently we only have two: the Wolves, and the Sharks
